Becoming a CFR

There’s no such thing as a typical CFR. Volunteers come from all walks of life but you need to be:

    • Aged over 18
    • Physically fit
    • Hold a current driving licence (minimum of one year) and have access to a car
    • Have a caring nature
    • Be able to attend incidents whilst at home or work
    • Attend regular training sessions and team meetings
    • Willing to help raise the profile of the scheme
    • Able to work as part of a team
    • Be reliable, trustworthy and compassionate

Due to the nature of the work all members of the team are subject to a CRB Check.

How much time do I have to give?

That’s entirely up to you. Some CFR’s are on call 24hrs a day others do certain days of the week or evenings. All we ask is that due to the nature of the work, you are required to keep your skills up to date. That only happens through experience, regular usage and attendance at ongoing training, lectures and meetings. Typically you will be asked to do a minimum of 20 hours per month.

How do I apply?

We are not currently recruiting but if you feel you fit the bill and would like to be considered for selection when vacancies become available please contact us.
